Rai Coast District Development Authority, established in accordance with the District Development Authority Act 2014 by the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea, is committed to driving progress and enhancing the lives of the people in Rai Coast District. Our multifaceted role encompasses service delivery, infrastructure development, budget allocation, district planning and capacity building, governance and more. By effectively managing services, we create an environment that encourages active participation, enabling the people of Rai Coast to improve their quality of life. Our vision is to foster connected economic growth, empower an educated, healthy and productive population, and cultivate safe and resilient communities.

Community Engagement

We are dedicated to actively involving the community in decision-making processes, recognizing the importance of soliciting their input and considering their needs. In pursuit of this commitment, we conduct quarterly DDA Board meetings in villages that are open for public attendance. This approach ensures transparency and provides individuals with the opportunity to witness and engage in our decision-making procedures.

Strategic Planning

We actively develop and implement strategic plans that align with the National Government’s Plans, our Provincial Plans, and our district’s goals and objectives. These plans are designed to promote long-term sustainable development while capturing the voices and aspirations of our people. They are in full alignment with Papua New Guinea’s national development framework as we strive to adhere to minimum service standards.

We establish partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sectors, to leverage resources and expertise for collective impact.
